ausTukka WebApp is an innovative blockchain-enabled traceability platform

The ausTukka Traceability App is an innovative blockchain-enabled platform designed to enhance provenance transparency and empower Indigenous food enterprises. Developed in collaboration with BBIEC, an Indigenous-led cooperative, the ausTukka Traceability App empowers growers, harvesters, and businesses with secure and transparent data governance. Significant progress has been achieved, including the establishment of a foundational blockchain infrastructure that enables supply chain actors to securely provide, verify, and track supply chain data. Additionally, we have established a Cultural Governance Framework that ensures the protection of Indigenous cultural interests in data sharing and decision-making processes.

While these foundational elements are in place, the ausTukka Traceability System has significant potential for further development to fully harness the power of blockchain technology. Our vision includes integrating an Aggregation Platform within the system to support small-scale Indigenous growers and processors, enabling them to consolidate supply, access larger markets, and enhance their position within the food value chain. Additionally, we aim to extend ausTukka’s capabilities to end consumers, enabling them to verify product authenticity and connect with the rich cultural stories behind Indigenous foods.

With additional funding, we can complete the development of the offline and online version of the ausTukka WebApp, ensuring seamless functionality, broader accessibility, and long-term sustainability. Investment in this next phase will directly contribute to the economic empowerment of Indigenous enterprises, enhance supply chain transparency, and create new opportunities for ethical and sustainable food systems.
